DYADO is a cousin folk-and-roll, Indie Americana farm-surf-pop duo based in Asheville, North Carolina. Matt Lohan and Louisa Stancioff are cousins who reconnected later in life in midcoast Maine when they were both working on farms and sailboats and learning how to play fiddle. They haven't stopped writing songs together since. They formed a band and together tour around the country in a blue Ford Focus with a cow skull wired to the grill, singing songs about road tripping, falling in and out of infatuation with life and people and the inevitable end of the world as we know it. The band is named after their Bulgarian grandfather, a wonderful man who lives in midcoast Maine. "Dyado" means grandfather in Bulgarian.
They recently recorded and released their first full length record in June, Dreamcountry, and are touring it up and down the West coast all through November. They like to pass around instruments and love to play music and party around campfires...and living rooms! Come watch them play!
You can listen to their music here. My personal favorite is the track "Dolceacqua."

As this is a Sunday afternoon concert heading into dinner, I'm making this a potluck and will supply a dish of homemade lasagna to feed the masses. Please pitch in and bring an appetizer, main dish, dessert or beverage to share, and let's make this a fun Fall gathering of great food, incredible music and bonding amongst friends. What's not to like?!
The cost is $20 per person. All money goes directly to the artists! Be sure to bring extra cash with you as Matt and Louisa will have CDs and merchandise for sale.
